Believe me or not but it is actually a good thing, that you are facing hardships in life. There is this quote by C.S Lewis, one of my favorite one:
“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for extraordinary destinations!”
I agree that for some people hardship is just a word and it pisses others off but learning things through the hard way is the only and real learning (lesson that you are going to remember for a really really long time).
When life throws lemons at you, you say “hey, free lemons!” instead of feeling sad and questioning life.
You grow when you face hardships. You evolve when you face hardships. You get strong when you face hardships. Replace “why me” with “try me”, and you will never have to worry about hardships no more.
Remember Walt Disney’s quote, who got fired from a local newspaper agency for lacking imagination,
“The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.”
If you have seen Pokémon ( on cartoon network), it has a great lesson in it too. Whenever Pikachu fights a battle and is not able to defeat his enemy ’cause enemy is too strong, he evolves into Raichu. You evolve when you face hard times in your life.
So don’t be afraid of hardships/adversities. Don’t get sad or feel envy if others are getting everything through the easy way. Have patience and keep working hard, battling every hardship life cast upon you. This is how you grow, this is how you evolve.
There are tons of cases which proof this right. Take Jack Ma for example,
And now you know who he is!
Walt Disney at the age of 19, started his own company, he was making cartoons for of the creatures from his childhood . At the same time he had very little money to pay his rent, he was living with his friends and he literally had no food for some days. He failed to sell a single cartoon. At the age 22, he went bankrupt. This is a little-known fact but, Do you know he also wanted to become a Hollywood actor, which also never happened. He was once fired by a newspaper editor who accused him of being slow and lacking imagination.
Rest is history! He is an inspiration for all of us. Whenever you feel like life is being too harsh on you, remind yourself of his magical words,
“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”
Oprah Winfrey is the most influential woman in the world. But success was not sitting out on her porch, she is who is she now because she didn’t give up on life even after facing so many shits, life had to offer. She did not have a promising childhood and teenage life was full of hardships. At the age of 9, she was raped by her cousin, her uncle, and her family friend. She ran away and was a mother to a child at the age of 14. After that, she took her studies seriously and it all paid off when she got a decent job at a local radio station.
And now over 1 billion people watch, “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” She overcame hardships and became the most inspiring lady, her words are enough to keep you moving,
“My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.”
There are many others like these people. So If they can, you can too. Don’t be afraid of hardships in life. Take a punch in the face and look right back at the life and ask for more. Get hit, but never ever surrender. Life is tough, but so are you.
