What is courage?
It is the ability to do something that frightens one. Courage comes to you naturally most of the times.
When something bad happens you have three choices. You can let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you.
When you hit the rock bottom; You realise there is nothing more to lose, and everything to gain. And then and then you start making decisions that involve risk. You start making changes that you should have made long ago but you were afraid, what if things don’t workout. You were afraid of the failure.
But we should not wait for this moment to come so that we can rise. Let your future pain motivate you now. The fact that you’re not where you are supposed to be should be enough motivation.
Rock bottom will do the trick for you, guide you through the difficulties, will give you fortitude but your smarter move should be to anticipate the rock bottom from few feet away and start making changes to improve your life.
As I said courage comes from within but however there are always ways to develop it, to sustain it. Encourage yourself to do more, be more. Not only yourself but encourage others too. Inspire others. Be that one person, that people look at and say, “Because of you I didn’t give up!”

Courage is something that everybody wants but do a very little about it.
Dropping a girl home in the middle of night, whom you have never met but it looks like she lost her way, is Courage. Taking risks to follow your dreams and innovate, is Courage. Standing up for yourself is Courage. Standing up for what is right, is Courage. Doing something by yourself for the first time is Courage. Quitting a job that you don’t like and finding a new one, is Courage. Even asking someone out on a date, requires Courage.
And as Benjamin Mee says in We bought a Zoo, It’s just about the 20 sec of mad courage,
“You know sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage, Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come out of it.”
So don’t be afraid of failure, consequences, risks and show that twenty seconds of courage whenever, wherever necessary and watch yourself succeed in life.
